Jan 2012 If there is one thing that any child will tell you there is no such thing as an “ordinary” marker pen by any means. They absolutely love drawing and colouring with felt-tipped markers. So much so that you are pretty likely to have to tell them to stop drawing all over your walls! And you might possibly tell them that they are going to have to wash all of the marker marks off of the walls. This is a bane to most kids. This is one “mistake” and punishment that they might never want to have to deal with ever again, so they might be pretty unlikely to repeat the offence again.
This is only part of the scenario here as well. Do you realise that young kids are not the only people that love to use a marker pen? If you have ever thought about this you might have indeed come to the conclusion that older kids as well as teenagers and adults all like and possibly live, using markers for so many different things. Many a teenager likes using markers to write all over their book covers and in their notebooks.
When it comes to adults using a marker pen do you think that an adult is any different than a small or young child when they have a marker in their hand? Sure they might only be using that marker to write something that they need or want to remember on a dry erase message board yet the idea here is no different. The only difference here is that the adult does not display the same carelessness, or would that be youthful exuberance, as a young child would.
That is only because they feel that they are bound by certain hard and fast “rules” that demand that they act like adults not as children. Yet you will see teachers of pre-school and older school-aged children using a marker pen in much the same way as the children they are teaching would. This is a bit of an exception to the “rules” it would seem. Yet this is nothing but part of the usual teaching style and their particular preference also plays a large part in how they teach.
You might be totally surprised by the numbers when you think about how many adults use a marker pen during the course of their daily work activities and/or leisure time. Many artists use markers to mark out the outlines of what they happen to be creating. There are many artists that like to work exclusively with marking pens either because the colour is permanent or because it is very vibrant and deep or bright.
Some artists also prefer to work in just a black and white medium alone, as tonal drawings can have a significant impact as opposed to a regular drawing or painting.
